Anti-Money Laundering

Pacific Exchange Co has a responsibility and a commitment to prohibit and actively prevent money laundering and any activity that facilitates money laundering or the funding of terrorist or criminal activities. To fulfill this goal we have implemented a specific, comprehensive, internal Anti-Money Laundering Policy. Our associates share in the responsibility of fulfilling this commitment as well. As a result all of our associates are apprised of this policy, and even those who don’t have direct business links with us understand our obligations. Furthermore, we do not partake in any transactions related to gambling/betting, this includes processing any transactions related to bookmaking or betting.

As of April 1st 2012, the Joint Intelligence Financial Unit (JFIU) transferred primary regulatory responsibility of the money services industry to the Customs and Excise Department (C & E), via the introduction of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Ordinance (AMLO). Please see the government video below of the basic documentation requirement currently in effect.

Social Responsibility

We are a company with a social conscience and make every effort to give back to the community and protect the environment. All waste paper is recycled through the government (with sensitive documents destroyed beforehand). Anything computer related that becomes obsolete we recycle through the Caritas-HK Computer Workshop. They aim not only to reduce the impact of computer related waste on the environment, but provide employment in the process and offer refurbished computers and computer related accessories to the less fortunate, schools, and welfare service organisations.

In 2014 we started supporting Hong Kong Unison, a non-governmental organisation focused on helping ethnic minorities in Hong Kong. They offer support, aid with their integration into the community, lobby the government on important issues relating to them, and promote equal opportunities on their behalf. We believe in their work and hope to continue supporting them for many years to come.
